K-jihacheol's Steam version launched on August 22, 2026. For anyone installing it for the first time, here's the full process — from purchase to picking a country and city to completing your first route. The launch discount of 10% runs through August 29, so now's a great time to get started.
Step 1: Find the Page on Steam
Search for K-jihacheol on the Steam client or web store to reach its store page. Check the screenshots, the description, and the 10% launch discount price, then click the buy button.
Step 2: Install and Launch It
Once you've purchased it, download and install K-jihacheol from your library. Launch it right away and choose a country and city from the main screen.
Step 3: Choose Your First Route Among 19 Countries and 26 Cities
If it's your first time, start with a city or line you already know well. You can choose from Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Gyeonggi in Korea; Tokyo and Osaka in Japan; Taipei in Taiwan; Hong Kong; Singapore; New York in the U.S.; Toronto in Canada; 11 European cities including London, Paris, and Berlin; and Sydney in Australia.
Step 4: Complete Your First Run in Drive Mode
Select Drive mode and the first station appears. Type each next station name correctly to move the train forward, and your record is saved once you finish. Once you're comfortable, move on to Memory mode, which hides the map, or Race mode, where you compete against an AI engineer, to put your skills to the test.
Step 5: Get a Feel for Travel by Typing in the Local Language
You type station names in Japanese in Tokyo and in Chinese characters or pinyin in Taipei, which makes the game useful for building a feel for local languages before a trip, not just for domestic routes. Learn the rules on a familiar route first, then branch out to cities you don't know.
