K-Pass is not an unlimited monthly pass. It returns a portion of eligible public-transit spending after you meet the conditions. Check your participating municipality, K-Pass account and card registration, and reward category in that order.

Check your address and account first

K-Pass is for residents aged 19 or older who are registered in a participating municipality. Issuing a card is not enough: create a K-Pass account and register the card you will actually use.

After moving or replacing a card, recheck your address verification and card status. The official K-Pass site is the source of truth for current participating areas and eligibility.

The standard rule is 15 monthly trips, up to 60

The official rule rewards 15 or more public-transit trips in a month, up to 60. The first month after joining may be rewarded even below 15 trips; only two trips per day count.

Transfers within 30 minutes of the first boarding are counted as one trip. When you exceed the daily or monthly caps, higher-fare trips are applied first, so review the trip history in the app.

Reward rates differ by category

Official rates are 20% for general users, 30% for ages 19–34, 53% for low-income users, 30% for households with two children, and 50% for three or more children. Low-income status needs a separate application and confirmation in the account.

For monthly public-transit spending above KRW 200,000, only 50% of the excess is applied; the official notice lists Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan as exceptions. Always check current regional rules and payment dates.
