Gyeonggang Line Typing Game Guide
Type all 11 stations of Gyeonggi Gyeonggang Line in order, from Pangyo to 여주. The timer starts with your first keystroke, and your finishing record appears when you enter the last station.
How to Play
- Choose a city and line, and the first station appears on a station sign.
- Type the station name in the input box. The timer starts the moment you type the first character.
- A correct answer moves you to the next station automatically — no Enter needed — and the train on the map advances one stop.
- Pressing Enter on a wrong answer counts as one typo and clears the input.
- When you reach the terminus, your time, keystrokes per minute and typos are shown and compared with your best.
Input Languages
The same line becomes a completely different game depending on the input language. You can switch anytime on the line list or at the top of the game screen.
- Local: type the name exactly as written on the station sign — Hangul in Korea, kanji and kana in Japan, Chinese characters in Taipei. The most authentic mode.
- English: type the romanized English name. Enjoy overseas lines without a Korean or Japanese keyboard.
Difficulty
Difficulty is mainly set by the number of stations on a line, but name length and input language also change how hard it feels.
This line has 11 stations: “Beginner” difficulty.
- Beginner
- 20 stations or fewer. Finishable in 1–3 minutes — ideal for a first try or a quick game on mobile.
- Intermediate
- 21–35 stations. Long enough to demand focus and good for cutting down typos.
- Advanced
- 36 stations or more. Long routes like Seoul Line 2 and metropolitan commuter lines, where simply finishing is a challenge.
With the same station count, English mode is harder because names get longer, and Local mode is harder on Japanese and Taiwanese lines that need kanji/kana conversion.
Records and Scoring
- Time: measured to 0.1 s from your first keystroke until the last station is correct.
- KPM: keystrokes per minute, showing your typing speed.
- Typos: the number of times you pressed Enter on a wrong answer.
- Best: your best time per line is saved in this browser, and “New record!” appears when you beat it.
Tips
- Spaces, hyphens, middle dots and text in parentheses are ignored, so you can skip them.
- In English mode, abbreviations such as Street↔St, Avenue↔Av and 42nd↔42 are accepted.
- On Japanese lines, katakana and hiragana are treated as the same characters.
- The sign also shows the previous and next stations — read ahead to save time.
- Use the full-screen button to focus, and the speaker button to mute sound effects.
FAQ
Is it free? Do I need to install anything?
It is completely free and runs right in your browser with no install or sign-up.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. You can play with a smartphone keyboard, and the screen adjusts so the input box stays visible above the on-screen keyboard.
Where are my records stored?
Best times are stored per line only in the browser you use and are never sent to a server. Clearing browser data resets them.
What if I don’t know the station names?
The current station name and its reading are shown on screen, so just type what you see. Play a few times and the line order sticks naturally.
